This is Sktchy muse Hannah. I drew her on my iPad Pro with an Apple Pencil using the Procreate app and Lisa Bardot’s wonderful Copicat brushes.

I’ve uploaded a Procreate timelapse video of my drawing process to my YouTube channel – if you’d like to watch it you can view it here.

I love drawing things. These days I am rarely found without a pen, pencil or stylus in my hands. In my working life I spend a lot of time in meetings and classrooms, reading papers and strategies, so my home life provides a creative antidote to all that! I also have chronic pain, lots of it. I have scoliosis, fibromyalgia and CRPS, so my life is a balancing act, trying to balance work, which make me feel part of the real world, with pain, which is ever present, and art, which soothes my pain.

  1. Just wrote a long comment and then erased it while trying to log into n!

Watched your wonderful YouTube video of this one—I’m so impressed by your use of Procreate’s layers. I’ll have to wait for Danny’s week 4 klass to refine my technique!

    Keep ‘em coming!

    1. Thanks Eliza! I’ve been using it for years so I’ve had lots of practice. I’ve only recently realised that when the time-lapse video kind of stutters is when I move the canvas into a different position or zoom in to work on a particular section – I do that a lot. Obviously the video is resetting itself vertically. And a 2 minute minute time-lapse is around 2 hours in real time. You can make a a very short video too but the longer ones seem to approximate more or less a minute to an hour of real time. I don’t know if any of that is useful or helpful but I kind of like knowing how the videos work. I don’t use them a lot of the time because they use a lot of memory so I just turn them on maybe once a week because it’s useful keeping track of progress.
