This a drawing made in yesterday’s Drawing Faces class of a woman from a photo posted on the Earthsworld Instagram page and website. I named her Susan because I don’t like drawing nameless people.

I don’t know this man’s name but I don’t like drawing nameless people so I’ve named him Gary.

Milena drawn with coloured pencils.

Emma drawn with Copic markers and coloured pencils.

In this week’s Drawing Faces class we drew Van Dyck’s portrait of Cornelis van der Geest. I love studying work by great painters – I learn so much about their painting style and use of colour. But I always struggle to scan or photograph coloured pencil drawings – if you have any tips on how to do this I’d love to know!

I drew Faeze on an iPad Pro using the Procreate app and the Hiroshi Yoshida brushset.

Nathan from the Museum by Sktchy app drawn with Holbein coloured pencils.

We had a go at posterising a portrait of Turay in this week’s Drawing Faces class.
